Colleen Cressman
Librarian for Open Publishing

Colleen has a decade of experience working primarily with academic researchers to make their scholarship available to anyone, anywhere without paywalls and other restrictions on scholarly engagement.

From articles, chapters and monographs to digital collections and public showcases, Colleen advises Harvard authors of ways to share and enable reuse of their work by leveraging open licenses, rights-retention policies, and by negotiating key terms of their publishing agreements. She also manages the Harvard Open Journals Program, which provides funding and services to qualifying open access journals led by Harvard editors.

Beyond her work with authors and editors, Colleen investigates, develops, and supports initiatives and services that advance no-fee open access publishing within and beyond the Harvard community. A frequent collaborator with colleagues across Harvard Library, Colleen evaluates and recommends the funding of a wide range of local and global no-fee open access initiatives.
